I am a pro at the Netflix binge. I watched the entire series of Breaking Bad in a week. Somehow I can watch an entire season of a show in a day. I've watched more full TV series than my parents, and it's a little weird. I'm not really proud of how quickly I consume things, but I do think that I am somehow an expert on this topic now. Today, I'll be helping you prepare for the perfect Netflix binge this weekend.
1. Go hardcore on the snacks.
You need everything under the sun between salty, sweet, and guacamole. Be prepared, because snacks can make or break this binge. You don't want to have to get up a ton of times to actually prepare meals. That will waste time and you'll be more likely to get distracted and quit the binge. Stay strong. Prepare the snacks tonight and ensure success tomorrow.
2. Create the ultimate comfort zone.
Make sure you have your sweatpants ready. This is the perfect time for that old, college t-shirt too. If these clothes have stains, that's cool too. It's all about being comfortable. You need to be able to sit in weird positions for hours on end, and jeans will just not cut it unless your talking about cutting off your circulation. Speaking of sitting, though, find the most comfortable place in your home to sit. Surround yourself with pillows and blankets, and create a little nest big enough just for you. Comfort is key to surviving hours of TV.
3. Make the right choice.
You can have the best snacks and the be the most comfortable, but all of this means nothing unless you have the perfect show. Be sure to choose something that is entertaining but is not emotionally draining. Dramas, unless they're really well written, usually aren't good for the binge. You'll have to pay attention a lot and get bored. I usually choose something lighter, like Parks and Rec or even Orange is the New Black, so I can passively watch at times. I'm not going to miss a ton, and I'll always be in a good mood.
Netflix binges are one of the finest things in life if you do them right, and that's why I'm here-- to help you do them right. What are your tips for the perfect Netflix binge? Am I missing anything that is absolutely vital to making it through the binge? Let me know! See you soon!
