What Watching 10 Seasons of Friends in a Month Taught Me

I'm a pro at watching TV. It's a little sad, but I don't mind. I mean, a little over a year ago, I did watch all of the episodes of Breaking Bad just in time for the finale, and I don't regret a second of it. This time, thought, I binge watched Friends. I laughed, I cried, and I learned a few things. My new found knowledge is what I'm going to be sharing with you today.

  1. Pets are hard work! Just because a duck and a chicken seem fun in theory, you need to be responsible enough to care for them in the proper ways. Don't get suckered in because they're cute.
  2. Breaks don't mean it's okay to sleep with somebody three hours later and then act like nothing happened. Technically, you were allowed to sleep with her. But morally, not so much. I'm looking at you Ross.
  3. Don't settle for something just because it looks good at the moment. When Monica and Richard broke up over having children, I felt so proud of Monica. Richard said that he would have children to make Monica happy, but she still knew that he didn't want them. She stuck to her guns, and it wound up working out for her!
  4. Sometimes things are going to suck before they get good. Remember when Rachel worked at Central Perk before she got her first fashion job? Or when Monica worked at the diner before she was able to get her head chef job? Or even all of those weird acting gigs before Joey got to Days of Our Lives (both times)? I need to remember this for my own life, because it's true that it does get better.
Other than learning that I need to do something else with my life, I did take quite a few things away from Friends. Ad if you were wondering, I have been told I am an odd mix of Phoebe and Rachel.

What have you learned from Friends? Which character are you most like? Let me know!
