Basketball Diaries

Whoa, guys, hold up. I'm about to write a post about basketball. I know, I know. Not every sports related post can be about baseball or UCF, but I think this is the first time that basketball has made an appearance? I don't know. Correct me if I'm wrong.

So, the point of this post is: Things are a changin' in my heart.

Now, if you've known me for an extended period of time you would know that I am pretty exclusively a college basketball fan. Yeah, I'd follow a few NBA players, but that would only be because I loved them in college. I wouldn't really watch their games. I would just check in on stats every now and then. But now? I kind of don't care. I'm still sad when Duke loses and happy when they win, but I'm not exactly stressing out about  watching the games like I once did. I mean, right now I'm watching the Clippers play, and I've seen approximately ten Duke v. Louisville commercials. They're just not doing it for me. You know, maybe it's because I've graduated. Or maybe it's because there are too few competitive teams. Maybe it's because most college basketball players just don't have the personalities that they once did, but I am full time riding the NBA train now.

You heard it hear first: I am officially declaring my unwavering love for the NBA.

It's consistently more entertaining basketball. More than seven teams are good, and you can find something to love about the few teams that have nothing to play for. It's not the same few teams, year after year, running the table. Hello, Golden State. I guess the main thing is, these teams actually make me care. They're not biding time until the playoffs (or the tournament for college). They're actually playing basketball, and it's great.

Guys, let me know. Are you more of a college or NBA basketball fan?
