Can I just say how happy I am to finally be doing this link up? I missed last month's and am still mad at myself for it. And then I missed all of Kasey's Spring Training link ups. Who am I? Anyway, I'm finally here. Today we're supposed to be talking about our favorite ballparks and is it sad that I've only managed to go to one in my entire life? I live in Southwest Florida and it is a huge trip to get to any park outside of Florida. Who cares if I've only been to the Trop (I'm still mad at the Rays. I didn't forget.)? It made my favorites list really easy.
It wouldn't be much of a post if I ended it there. It's my goal to get to ever MLB ballpark before I die (and like half of MiLB because Minor League Baseball is where my heart truly is, but there are so many teams), so I'm just going to make a list of the places I definitely need to hit up before I'm gone.
First on my list is Turner Field, because I could realistically get there this year. This wouldn't really help my ballpark bucket list aspirations because they're moving, but I've always had a soft spot for the Braves and Atlanta. I hope I can get there by the end of the summer and have my first baseball beer.
If I could get to any ballpark where proximity wasn't an issue and I wouldn't have to plan like an entire trip to get there, Camden Yards would be so high up on that list it isn't even funny. My dad grew up in Baltimore, and I think it would be so cool to go to an O's game with him one day.
I don't think Busch Stadium needs much explanation? I mean, you see the St. Louis arch from your seat. That's so cool! Plus, Cardinals fans seem cool. I can't wait to get a hot dog there.
I'm saving one of the best for last purely out of respect here. Fenway deserves it. With all of the history this place has, it would be rude for me to not even list is. I am by no means a Red Sox fan, but I can get behind a passionate baseball organization.
That's all I've got for now! I can't wait to check out everybody else's favorite ballparks.
